Botulinum Toxin Injection Procedure

Preparation

• The doctor prepares the botulinum toxin as a powder, then mixes it with a saline solution to create the injection.

Finding Injection Sites

• The doctor will ask you to make specific facial expressions to locate muscles:
  • Frown: To find the glabellar complex.
  • Raise Eyebrows: To highlight the frontalis muscle.
  • Squint: To show the orbicularis muscle near your eyes' corners.
• Areas for injections will be marked for precision.

Injection Process

• A very fine needle is used for the injections.
• 5 to 10 units of the toxin will be injected into targeted muscles:
  • Frontalis Muscle: You will raise your eyebrows again during the injection.
  • Orbicularis Muscle: You will squint, and the injection is administered near the outer corners of your eyes.
• Expect a slight burning or stinging sensation during the injection, which typically subsides within a minute.

Post-Injection

• Results can start to be felt within a week, with noticeable differences.
