Steps to Disable Copilot AI
Microsoft Word
Open Word and create a new document.
Click on File and then select Options.
Navigate to Copilot, clear the option, and click OK.
Restart the application.
Microsoft Excel
Open Excel and create a blank spreadsheet.
Click on File and select Options.
Navigate to Copilot, clear the enable Copilot option, and click OK.
Restart the application.
Microsoft OneNote
Open OneNote and go to File Options.
Select Copilot, clear the enable Copilot option, and click OK.
Restart the application.
Microsoft PowerPoint
Open PowerPoint and create a blank presentation.
Click on File Options.
Go to Copilot, clear the enable Copilot option, and click OK.
Restart the application.
Additional Notes
You must disable Copilot in each application individually.
In some cases, the Copilot tab may only appear after creating a document, spreadsheet, or presentation.
Copilot can be re-enabled at any time via the options page.
Outlook currently does not have options to enable or disable Copilot for both the desktop version and Outlook for Windows 11, as well as Outlook on the web. The option will be released later.
