Logitech Webcam Not Working? Quick Fixes

If your Logitech webcam is not detected, doesn't turn on, or displays a black screen, try the following steps:

1. Check Physical Connection

  • Ensure the camera is properly plugged in.
  • Try unplugging and reconnecting it to another USB port.
    • Preferably use a USB 2.0 port if you were using a USB 3.0 port.

2. Check Camera Permissions (Windows)

  • Go to Settings > Privacy > Camera
  • Make sure Camera Access is turned ON for:
    • The device itself
    • Apps
  • Confirm that your application (e.g. Zoom, Teams, OBS) has permission to use the camera.

3. Uninstall & Reinstall the Logitech Webcam Driver

  • Open Device Manager (Right-click Start menu, select Device Manager)
  • Expand Imaging Devices or Cameras
  • Right-click your Logitech webcam > Select Uninstall Device
  • Restart your computer
    • Windows will reinstall the default camera driver automatically.

4. Update Webcam Drivers

  • In Device Manager, right-click your webcam
  • Select Update Driver
  • Choose Search automatically for drivers
  • Alternatively, visit the Logitech Support website to download the latest driver for your webcam model.

Additional Tips

  • These fixes are especially helpful after Windows updates that may cause webcam issues.
  • If problems persist, check the Logitech support page or seek further assistance.
