Tutorial: How to Permanently Delete Your Instagram Account

Objective

Step-by-step guide to permanently delete an Instagram account from within the Instagram app.

Steps

1. Go to Your Profile

   • Open Instagram and ensure you’re on the correct account you want to delete.
   • Tap your profile icon at the bottom.

2. Access Account Settings

   • Tap the three bars (menu) at the top right corner.

3. Enter Account Center

   • Select "Account Center" from the menu.

4. Go to Personal Details

   • Tap on "Personal Details."

5. Account Ownership and Control

   • Select "Account Ownership and Control."

6. Deactivation or Deletion

   • Tap "Deactivation or Deletion."

7. Select the Account to Delete

   • Choose the account you want to remove.

8. Choose Permanent Deletion

   • By default, it may be set to "Deactivate" (temporary).
   • Select "Delete account" (permanent).

9. Proceed with Deletion

   • Tap "Continue."
   • Select a reason (e.g., "Privacy Concerns"), then tap "Continue."
   • Tap "Continue" again.

10. Confirm and Finalize

    • Enter your Instagram password when prompted.
    • Tap "Continue" to confirm.
    • Tap "Continue" again to begin the deletion process.

Important Notes

• Deleting your account is permanent. Once done, the account and its data cannot be recovered.
• If you only wish to temporarily disable your account, choose "Deactivate" instead.
• After deletion, you will be logged out and your data will be removed after a 30-day period (per Instagram's policy).
