How to Disable or Uninstall Microsoft Copilot on Windows 11

Steps to Uninstall Copilot
Uninstalling Copilot App on Windows 11
- Open Start and navigate to Settings.
- Go to Apps > Installed Apps.
- Locate the Copilot app, click on the menu button, select Uninstall, and confirm the action.
Uninstalling Microsoft 365 Copilot App
- Open Start and go to Settings.
- Navigate to Apps > Installed Apps.
- Find Microsoft 365 Copilot, click the menu button, select Uninstall, and confirm.
Disabling Copilot in Office Apps
Disabling Copilot in Microsoft Word
- Open Word and go to File > Options.
- Navigate to Copilot, clear the "Enable Copilot" option, and click Okay. Restart the app if necessary.
Disabling Copilot in Excel
- Open Excel. Click File > Options (or directly from the main home screen).
- Navigate to Copilot, clear the "Enable Copilot" option, and click Okay. Restart Excel.
Other Office Apps
- Repeat similar steps in other Office apps, e.g., PowerPoint: Go to File > Options, clear "Enable Copilot", click Okay.
Disabling Copilot in Microsoft Edge
- Open Microsoft Edge and go to Settings.
- Navigate to Copilot and Sidebar, turn off Show Copilot button.
- Go back to Show Sidebar Button option and turn it off.
Additional Information
- Copilot can be reinstalled from the Microsoft Store at any time.
