Steps to Enter Windows Recovery Environment (WinRE)

If you need to troubleshoot your Windows 10 or 11 PC using the Windows Recovery Environment (WinRE), such as fixing a startup problem, uninstalling a problematic device driver from Safe Mode, or uninstalling recent Windows updates, follow these steps from a powered-off state:

1. Start the PC:

   • Press the power button to turn on your PC.

2. Initiate Forced Shutdown:

   • As soon as the Windows logo or the Throber appears on the screen, press and hold the power button until the PC turns off.
   • Repeat the forced shutdown process one more time.

3. Initiate Automatic Repair:

   • Press the power button to turn on your PC again.
   • The automatic repair should start automatically.

4. Access WinRE:

   • On the Automatic Repair screen, click on Advanced Options to access the Windows Recovery Environment.
